BESS Appeal – Outcome

Today we received the outcome of the Inquiry into the Battery Storage Site on Westfield Road, Carlton. The decision by Leeds City Council to reject the application was appealed against by the Company wishing to build the site and it went to a public inquiry which went on for 6 days about 9 weeks ago. Unfortunately the inspector after looking at all the evidence and laws put forward has made the decision for this site to go ahead.

A lot of people spent a lot of time and effort doing there upmost to make others aware of this site, including thousands of leaflets posted, doing loads of research, visiting other sites and many hours spent at the inquiry putting forward the the thoughts about the site and the effect this site would have on the local community and we would like to thank them for all of their hard work.

If anyone wishes to read what was said please see the link.
