To protect and maintain the distinctive character, agricultural heritage and environment of the village, including its place at the centre of the world renowned Rhubarb Triangle.
The Neighbourhood Plan will seek to enhance its public open spaces and influence any necessary development to be sympathetic to the interests of the community in keeping with characteristics of Carlton, ensuring that a sense of place is maintained and the tranquillity associated with a semi–rural village is conserved.
In so doing, its intent is also to work in partnership with the Community, the Local Authority and other neighbourhood forums and to encourage both social and business diversity, but at the same time helping to retain the long term identity, social amenity and community involvement that so clearly defines Carlton Village.
